Douglas and Arapahoe County Basketball Parents...

Your Athlete Works Hard. But Is That Work Showing Up In Games?

We bridge the gap between practice and game day with focused skill development, mindset coaching, film study, personalized feedback, and accountability.

Hear From Our Athletes.

Listen to how Confident Scorer Academy changed their lives and their games.

What We Do

We create more skilled and confident players through modern European technical training and mental mastery practice.

Why It Works

The Confident Scorer Academy is a premier, hybrid basketball development system. It is designed specifically for dedicated 5th–12th grade athletes in Southeast Aurora and Parker who are ready to make a massive leap in their game.

Our program goes way beyond standard training. It is built on The 360° Scorer Blueprint, combining elite in-person training with high-level film study, mindset coaching, and weekly remote accountability.

We accelerate your athlete's results using our Four Pillars of Development:

Pillar 1: Elite In-Person Skill Lab – High-level, European-technical training focusing on all offensive aspects of the game from ball handling and  footwork, to finishing and shooting. We don't just run drills; we ensure every skill learned translates directly to success in real game play.

Pillar 2: Weekly Film Study – We teach athletes how to truly understand the game. Through weekly live film breakdowns, players learn how to read the floor, anticipate plays, and understand the "why" behind every move to drastically raise their basketball IQ.

Pillar 3: Mindset & Poise – Skills mean nothing without the confidence to use them. We provide mindset mentorship lessons during our in-person training to help athletes stay composed under pressure, handle the inevitable ups and downs of a game, and build an unshakeable court presence.

Pillar 4: At-Home Accountability & Video Breakdowns – Training doesn't stop when your athlete leaves the court. We post two weekly workouts inside our private player community for them to complete at home. Athletes submit video check-ins of their reps, and they receive 1-on-1 online coaching breakdowns of their film. It gives parents peace of mind knowing their child is getting direct, expert feedback on their skills every single week.

Meet Owner and Head Trainer, Marko Zelic

Marko's basketball journey began in Serbia, a country known for its deep love of the game and focus on fundamental skills.Growing up in a highly competitive European system, he learned early on that success comes down to mastering the small details of the sport.

Through consistent hard work, Marko developed into one of his country’s top youth power forwards by the age of 15. This path allowed him to train and compete alongside one of the greatest players of all time, Nikola Jokic. Pushing himself in that elite environment earned Marko a spot in the final top 30 player cut for the Serbian National Team before he moved to the United States to play four years of college basketball.

He founded the Confident Scorer Academy because he noticed too many trainers running youth players through generic drills that never translate to real games. Marko's focus is completely on the offensive side of the ball, building versatile threats who are skilled enough to play any position and score more points for their teams. By blending European technical training with modern skill enhancement, he is able to produce insane game results for his players.

But the most important piece of his system is mindset, because skills mean nothing if an athlete doesn't believe in themselves when they step onto the floor. Marko builds genuine court confidence by giving players mental tools they need use to dominate the court.

The academy only accepts coachable, committed players who are truly ready to put in the effort. Space is limited to ensure every athlete receives the direct, high-level feedback they need to transform their game.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a club team?

No. We don't play games or travel. This is player development. We make your athlete a better scorer so they stand out on the team they already play for. Most of our families do club and train here at the same time.

When and where do you train?

Skill sessions run almost every day of the week at Fox Ridge Middle School. Film study is live online on Sunday afternoons.

What if we have a schedule conflict?

Not a problem. Club schedules change, families travel, kids get sick. If you need to switch training days partway through the program, you can. If your athlete misses a session, we make it up. I'd rather work around your life than have you stressed about a missed week.

What does it cost?

Memberships start at $2,500 for six months, which works out to about $400 a month. Here's what your athlete gets for that:

Weekly in person skill sessions. European technical training focused entirely on offense. Ball handling, footwork, finishing at the rim, shooting. Not generic drills. Every skill is taught the way it shows up in a real game, so it transfers on Friday night instead of only looking good in a gym.

Constant correction. This is the part parents notice first. Your player gets told what they're doing wrong while they're doing it, rep after rep, for the whole session. Most players go entire seasons without anyone fixing their mechanics. Volume of correction is what actually changes a player, and it's the thing we do more of than anyone.

Weekly live film study. Players learn to read the floor, anticipate, and understand why a move works instead of just copying it. This is where basketball IQ gets built, and it's the difference between a skilled player and a smart one.

Mindset coaching in every session. Skills mean nothing if a kid doesn't believe in himself when the game is tight. We give players real mental tools for staying composed, shaking off a bad possession, and playing free instead of scared.

Two at home workouts a week with 1 on 1 feedback. Posted in our private player community. I handle film breakdowns for high school players personally. On younger groups, my assistant coach handles online coaching so every player gets fast, detailed feedback every week.

Will my athlete get real attention?

Groups run up to 12 players, and our parents consistently tell us it still felt like private training. That's by design. Players get corrected constantly during sessions, every rep, while they're doing it. Most players go years without that.

Six months or twelve?

Six months and your player will be noticeably better than they are right now. Twelve gets them further, and adds personalized game analysis and free camps. Both are honestly just starting points. I have players who've been with me four plus years, and those are the ones whose games look unrecognizable. The six and twelve month memberships are how we start, not how long this has to last.

Do you take every player who applies?

No. We work with coachable, committed athletes. If your player is being dragged here, this won't work. No program fixes a kid who doesn't want to get better. If they're hungry, we'll take them further than they expect.

What if my kid isn't self motivated yet?

Most aren't at first. The at home work is short, structured, and checked every week, so the discipline gets built with support instead of left to chance. What we can't build is wanting it. That part has to already be there.

How involved do I need to be as a parent?

Involved. Your athlete owns the work, but we want parents who stay on top of their kid's development. The families who get the most out of this are the ones paying attention.

Who coaches the sessions?

I do, every session. Unless I'm visiting my family in Serbia which happens once a year. On younger groups I bring in an assistant so no player goes uncoached.
